St. George in the books …
Well, St. George is in the books. I’m writting this from an iPhone so I’ll keep it short.
It was 72 degrees when we got on the bus. But by the time we reached the start the rain had started and was joined by some gale force winds. The temperature would drop into the low 60s when we started.
It rained the entire race. They said it had only rained twice in 32 years, guess we are lucky like that.
I’d make two pits stops along the way losing a little over five minutes , not my best performance.
The last 10k is all downhill and my times ranged from 6:15-7:15. Defintely the fastest last 10k I’ve ever had in a marathon.
Stats:
3:07:30
79th marathon
44th state
More details sometime this week.

Yep, seems like you can’t predict what Mother Nature will serve up on race day these days. Way to get it done, though. I’d be happy with a 3:07 any day
WOW! You are fast. That’s awesome.
I just popped over here from the BlogHer link. I’m so impressed with your marathon running!
also found you from blogher–congrats!! that is some kinda fast running!
Glad to have all you BlogHer visitors. Gotta love them.
I was happy with a 3:07, but I would have liked to avoid the pit stops and go faster
Happy, it’s a lot easier than you think. Training for the first one is the hardest part, and after that, its easy.
Man, you sure do crank them out! Never had to run a marathon in the rain but I’m thinking I might here in a few weeks. 6 more states to go! How many continents left?
