Marathon Me

While this has nothing to do with running, it has more to do with wasting (or saving) time depending on your perspective. To me it seems like a huge waste of time, but then if a large portion of your day involves solving Rubix Cubes, then this could be a good use of time. I can’t imagine how long it took to actually get the Lego Mindstorm robot to do this, but without further ado, here you go:

I think it would have been simpler to do what I did as a child and just turn one of the slides slightly (as in the above photo) then pop off the corner piece until you can disassemble the cube and reassemble it all put back nicely together. You also can pry of the face plate of the middle piece and unscrew the whole cube and take it apart that way and not have to worry about possibly cracking the cube.

I found it worked great to have it all tangled, then inform everyone you’d be busy in your room for a few hours cranking out a Rubix cube solution, then go waste time playing video games or other such nonsense, finally emerging victorious and slightly exhausted and receive all due adulations.

For some reason this seemed to impress my grandparents more than my parents. My parents probably assumed I took it apart, and my grand parents believed in me. And it’s that “believing in me” that made me who I am today. hahahah

Although I do get mad when my grandmother let’s my son cheat at cards. I don’t feel this is hypocritical at all. After all, she is *my* grandma not his. My mother can let him cheat all he wants, but I feel Grams should be on my side in the war against little boy cheating.

I was never able to do very well on the cube, but I could tear up a Rubix Magic.
