I can see clearly now the rain has gone…

I am now almost three weeks post laser prk surgery and my eyes only keep getting better. I have my final post-op checkup Tuesday morning, where I am hopeful things will have graded out at 20/20 or better. My friend Steve was nice enough to inform me that he has 20/10 and 20/15 after Lasik surgery, and really he only missed one letter ont he 20/15 eye so it’s slightly better than that. I’m am jealous.
If I get to 20/20 it will be quite amazing. Tonight I was at a restaurant in New York called, of all things, Supper. They must have spent forever coming up with that name. The food is really good here and the wine was great. We got a bottle of 2004 Valpolicella Superiore from Campo Prognai. It was really tasty. But that’s not the important thing.
What was important was I was looking out across the street and I was able to see a sign in an upstairs office building across the street in perfect clarity. My friend Shanon said he could read it but it wasn’t perfectly clear, and for me it was. I’m was soooo happy to be able to see that far without glasses.
Can’t wait for my first marathon without contacts or glasses. It’s been a long time.

Speaking of which, I need to step out for lunch at my favorite restaurant Lunch.
Great news!
I have thought about getting LASIK some day. The cost is outrageous for me, though (I have severe astigmatism in addition to near-sightedness). And I’ve wondered what will happen when I start needing reading glasses, which I’m sure I will soon since my husband has started wearing them about a year ago and he’s the same age as me. I don’t think I’ve seen 20/20 since 3rd grade …
It’s fantastic. I love seeing without glasses. I still find myself going to wipe off my glasses when I’m out in the drizzle.
