Cool map generator

I found a cool tool to help you create maps, which is very useful for tracking which states you’ve run in a visual way. This website allows you to enter six different groupings of states and pick the color and it will shade them in and create an image for you.The above image is what I generated. It shows the 43 states that I’ve run a marathon in. I’ve got 7 states and DC left.
Remaining states: Georgia, Kentucky, Nevada, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Utah, Vermont and Washington DC.
Hopefully all 50 will be done sometime next year. I really need to work out that schedule.

Thanks for the sock info. Just purchased it. I’m impressed with your marathon map!
when is the st george marathon? you should be able to cross utah off this fall i think! this is pretty cool. when did you start the 50 states quest?
St. George is October 4th, so Utah will be going down. I also have the Marine Corp booked, so DC will come off the list leaving 6 states left.
You’ve got the Kentucky Derby Marathon in late April/early May (which I very highly recommend) or the Louisville marathon in early November. I believe both are BQ’s. The KDF running events are a lot more fun because you get caught up in the whole Derby atmosphere. I ran the half for the first time in 2008. Hope to see you there in 2009!
