I’m so doomed

I finally started looking into what the course is going to be like in Coeur d’Alene in three weeks. Well, the bike course looks like this:

Which is both good and bad. It’s bad for having to go up those monster hills, which will probably drop my speed into the single digits but the plus side is you should get to scream down the same hills hopefully pushing over the 30-35mph range to make up for some of it.

Although I have heard some of the downhills go into 90 degree turns, which would suck.

But the bike course is what the bike course is, no big deal. I’ve done some hilly rides before (just never one this long).

I’ve also been under the assumption that the swim since it isn’t in the Ocean like my first Ironman would be nice and smooth. I was sadly mistaken. I came across this video today:

That’s pretty choppy water in my book. Luckily I plan on getting kicked and punched so much during the swim I don’t expect to notice the waves too much. I think I may need to do some of the Cliff Bar swim training outlined here:

Ahhh well, it sounds fun. See you in Idaho.
