And with those words, we were in. My brother in law, Scott, and I have been selected into the St. George Lottery! So bring it on Screaming Downhills! I think I need to look at the elevation chart one more time.

Yes, it is steep and it is beautiful, and it is beautifully steep. It appears to start a little north of 5100 feet and then just have the bottom fall out, finally ending with destroyed quads at 2600-2700 feet. Miles 7-13 appear to be the only uphill for maybe a 100 feet or so.

I think the only danger in this race is that I don’t destroy myself in the first half, I want to have enough left to get a possible negative split and big PR.

I’m going to map out my race schedule for the rest of 2008 and hope that I have the common sense to leave 3-4 weeks before St. George so that I can run this one properly.

Cool weather, downhill course. PR here I come.
