Ironman creeps ever closer and still I don’t ride my bike
You might be asking, why not? Is it because I am lazy? Quite possibly. Is it because I travel too much also quite possible.
I was hoping to ride this morning before heading on the road again, but it was raining so now it will be at least another week before I ride. Then the following week the Boston Marathon is coming up, so I don’t want to do to much riding that I blowup my chance for a good time as Boston.
It’s quite a dilemma. Not really, but it is enough of one that laziness usually wins out.
My basic goal of 5 miles swimming, 500 miles cycling before Ironman seems to be very much in doubt at this point.
But I still feel confident that I will be able to somehow pull it all together and have a decent race. After all I’ve still got 79 days until the race …

You could always do spin classes when you travel. Or when it’s raining in Austin, spin with your bike on a trainer.
Jane,
That’s a great point. But somehow trainers seem almost as painful as treadmills, and when on the road I am typically in the office from 7:30am-8pm or so and then go out to dinner with the team or customers and so it is hard to motivate for finding a gym with a spin class.
But I realize I do have to do something
I’m hoping I can just marathon my way into Ironman shape.
