The Joys of trail running
Posted on March 31st, 2008 by Frank
I was searching around for other running related blogs and came across this post at Run On Earth.com.
- For every mile you run on trails, you add one minute to your life. This enables you, at the age of 85, to spend an additional five months in a nursing home at $5,000/month.
- The only reason you took up trail running was to hear heavy breathing again.
- I have to run early in the morning, before my brain figures out what I’m doing.
- I like long walks, especially when they are taken by people who annoy me.
- The advantage to trail running every day is that you die healthier
- If you are going to take up cross-country running, it helps to start with a small country.
I found it quite amusing. They have some other ways to tell you are a trail runner, but I’ll let you grab those directly from his site.

Thanks for the support on the ultra. I run daily, and a lot, but just haven’t gone for a “big one” yet. I’m sure the rush will push me into more.
