Weekend Running
Well, its been a few days since my last post. Trying to find the right balance of posting and actual useful information.
I had my boss in town towards the end of the week, so there was less running and more eating, culminating on Friday with a lunch at the County Line restaurant, after which I didn’t need to eat dinner.
I ran the Napa Marathon last Sunday, which was two week after the AT&T Austin Marathon, and it was enjoyable as always; but more on that in a later post.
I had a decent run, especially in light of the Limo Wine Tour we took with some friends the day before. I took Monday off and then we travelled home, getting stuck in the San Jose Airport for a good five hours.
The week after a marathon is always interesting to see how much you’ve beat yourself up and how quickly you recover. This week I’ve had pretty good success and don’t feel too beat up.
The weeks training so far:
Monday: Off
Tuesday: 4 @ 7:33/M
Wednesday: 4 @ 7:47/M
Thursday: 2.5 @7:11/M
Friday: 4@7:39/M
Saturday: 7 @ 7:37/M
Sunday: Undecided at this point
So I will finish this week around 19.5 miles unless I run tomorrow. We’re traveling early in the morning headed to a cruise so not sure if I’ll get up even earlier to run or not.
Next week we will be cruising the Pacific towards Mexico. The training I am sure will suffer, but for a great cause.
Thru the miracle of modern technology I will attempt to post even while at sea using my magic BlackBerry Curve and its all powerful tethering modem.
Till then, happy trails.
