Man, 101, to run London Marathon

bustermartin.jpg

This is pretty kick ass. Buster Martin (awesome name by the way), will be running the London Marathon at the young age of 101.

It’s quite humbling to think of running marathons after you’re 100 years old. That means I’ve got another 68 years of marathons left. Wonder if I am up to that.

Working plumber Buster Martin ran Sunday’s Roding Valley half marathon in Essex in five hours 13 minutes, and is now focusing on London’s 26-mile event.

On finishing the run, the first words of the ex-member of rock band The Zimmers were: “Where’s my beer?”

What a great way to end a race, with an ice cold beer. I look forward to seeing Buster take down the London marathon, and since London is full of harriers, hopefully he can enjoy a beer along the way.

Here’s to you Buster!

  1. Humph. Someone has to force me to read this post. It’s too big and boring. Brevity is the sister of talent, remember that.
